MUSA cafe restaurant
About the food: provenance
MUSA café restaurant is committed to serving fresh food
free from additives and preservatives. We seek to minimise food miles by
buying locally and British. We have an ongoing commitment to reducing our
carbon footprint and regularly review the environmental impact of our operations.
MUSA suppliers are local wherever possible and all share our commitment to be sustainable and environmentally supportive. All of our meat and poultry is fully traceable, with the majority of the produce sourced from small East Anglian farms all with the highest welfare standards.
Our long- established fish supplier, with its own fleet of vessels, catches the freshest fish for us from sustainable stocks. Our shellfish is sourced locally whenever possible from the rich stocks close to Colchester at West Mersea.
At MUSA we take great pride in sourcing daily the freshest and most seasonal produce. We work with a North Essex based family run business, spanning three generations. They help us to source the best of seasonal produce including East Anglian fruit and vegetables whenever possible and a range of locally made products.
We work with a local wine merchant to create an impressive range of wines, beers, ciders and spirits. A range of natural sodas and natural mixers are the core of our MUSA soft drinks offer, providing an additive free, healthier option.
